The Rams kicked off this final game of a disappointing season against another team from North of the border. The first game between these sides had been a close one which the Tigers were ultimately victorious.
The visitors couldn’t convert a 4th-and-1 on their first drive and the Rams took over but, after the high number of interceptions in the last game, the first drive ended in another pick which everyone involved was looking to avoid.
The home team would attempt a field goal to try and break the deadlock after the Tigers fumbled the ball but the attempt was missed so the score stayed 0-0. The very next drive lead to a Tigers touchdown and they took a 6-0 lead which could have demoralised the Yorkshire players. But the opposite was true and on the next drive Luke Campbell took the ball into the endzone and when the PAT was converted, the Rams had a 7-6 lead which is how the half would end.
The second half started with multiple punts and the third quarter would end just after a Rams fumble. A big sack by stopped the Tigers though and when the next Rams drive was looking promising, after multiple completions to Adam Cole, the ball was picked off again. Nick Halfpenny would return a punt into the Tigers’ half but the home side would be picked off again and the visitors would make them pay this time when they added a TD with just over 2 minutes remaining.
The Rams could have been forgiven for thinking that this game wasn’t going to go their way either but then Chris Winrow threw a long pass to Keimar Stuart and he ran half of the field to score and give the lead back to the home side in dramatic fashion! Winrow added a 2PAT to make the score 15-12.
There was a last opportunity for the side from Glasgow, as they had a minute to score but could only drive into field goal territory. They attempted to tie the game in the last second but the field goal attempt was no good and the Rams would take victory in the final game of the season in the most dramatic way.
Thanks for all your support this season and we look forward to welcoming you back in 2020.
