A small Rams squad travelled north of the border for the first of three long away trips to Scotland in 2019.
The game got off to a slow start as both teams traded punts but the signs were positive for the Rams as the offense were performing much better compared to the previous game and would attempt a field goal which was blocked.
The visiting defense would force a fumble, after a short punt from James Hudson and the offense were given the chance to drive down the field but more punts ensued.
An interception from Spencer Whybrow gave the Rams another shot just before the half but a long pass was picked off and the teams would leave the field at 0-0.
The Tigers kicked off the second half but the ball went out of bounds and set up the visitors with great field position but another drive ended with a turnover as the ball was fumbled back to the home side.
The scoreline would finally change though as the Glasgow side got into the redzone and although they also fumbled, the ball was recovered in the endzone and it was ruled a touchdown. The PAT was missed which gave the travelling Rams some hope but they were behind again, 6-0.
A good run from Adam Foulds gave them some hope but another fumble ended that drive too, too many mistakes were killing the Rams for a second week running and another interception stopped the next drive, which was showing promise too.
Glasgow scored a touchdown but it was pulled back for multiple personal fouls and they would face a 1st-and-Goal from the 35 yard line instead. It didn’t matter though, as their Quarterback ran the ball in shortly after and the lead was up to 13-0.
And that’s how the scoring ended, a much improved performance overall but mistakes and turnovers would ultimately send the Rams to 0-2 and back to Leeds to face the Gateshead Senators next week, at an alternative venue due to John Charles Stadium being unavailable.
