The Rams started their season with an emphatic 62-0 victory over Darlington Steam, at John Charles Centre for Sport, Leeds. This dominant performance set a strong tone for the Rams as they embarked on their campaign in the BAFA NFC 1 Central division.

From the outset, the Rams’ defense established control, forcing early turnovers and setting up the offense in advantageous positions. Tyler Broad opened the scoring with a touchdown run, followed by a successful 2-point conversion, giving the Rams an early 8-0 lead. Broad continued his stellar performance with another touchdown and conversion, extending the lead to 16-0.

Fred Nash and Rio Irvine added to the Rams’ tally with a touchdown and a 2-point conversion respectively, ending the first quarter with a commanding 24-0 lead. The Rams’ defense, led by standout performances from players like Will Johnson and Edher Guadarrama, continued to stifle the Steam offense, creating multiple turnover opportunities.

In the second quarter, Guadarrama scored a spectacular pick-six, followed by a volleyball-esque 2-point conversion by Dionte Watson, further pushing the score to 40-0. Additional touchdowns from Umland and Broad, complemented by conversions from Spencer Whybrow and Watson, saw the Rams head into halftime with an overwhelming 46-0 advantage.

The second half saw the Rams maintain their dominance. Luke Campbell and Broad added more touchdowns, while the defense held firm, preventing any scoring opportunities for the Steam. The final whistle blew with the scoreboard reading 62-0, capping off an impressive season opener for the Rams.
