The Yorkshire Academy Rams delivered a dominant performance against the Glasgow Tigers, securing a resounding 80-7 victory at John Charles Stadium.

The game began with an unexpected twist as a trick play from the Glasgow Tigers put them in the red zone immediately. Capitalizing on this early momentum, the Tigers’ quarterback scored the first points of the game, followed by a successful PAT, giving Glasgow a 7-0 lead.

However, the Rams quickly responded. Tyler Broad’s kickoff return was brought back due to a flag, but Luke Campbell soon punched it in from the 1-yard line, followed by Broad adding the 2 point conversion to bring the score to 8-7 in favour of the Rams.

As the second quarter started, the Rams’ offense, led by QB Taylor Umland, continued to shine. Umland connected with Spencer Whybrow, who went in untouched, with Broad once again adding the 2PAT, extending the lead to 16-7.

Another touchdown pass from Umland found the big man Conor Moran, making it 22-7 after an unsuccessful 2PAT. The momentum kept building as Umland again connected with Moran in the back of the end zone for another score. This time, Broad added the 2PAT, bringing the score to 30-7.

The Rams’ defense was also in top form. Matthew Wilkinson intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown, with Zak Thompson adding the 2PAT, pushing the lead to 38-7.

Tyler Broad continued to be a force on both sides of the ball. He forced a fumble that set the Rams up in the red zone, and later added another touchdown to his tally, though the 2PAT was no good, bringing the halftime score to 44-7.

The second half saw more of the same dominance from the Rams. Taylor Umland ran in a long score right after the kickoff, with Broad adding another 2PAT, extending the lead to 52-7.

A standout play of the game was Zak Thompson’s remarkable catch in traffic, bringing the Rams into the red zone and thrilling the crowd.

Wilkinson had an outstanding game, adding another interception return for a touchdown in the second half. His play, along with the rest of the Rams’ defense, ensured the Tigers could not regain any momentum.

The Rams also showcased some of their young talent from Carnegie American Football, with Cam Sanders catching a deep ball down the sideline for a touchdown, followed by Fred Nash adding the 2PAT, bringing the score to 66-7.

Mark Gaze made his return to playing, stepping in at QB and connecting with Tyler Broad for another touchdown. Broad then added another 2PAT with an impressive catch and contortion into the end zone, extending the lead to 80-7.
