#38 Matt Fox

Linebacker Matt Fox is a walking streaming service, boasting an extraordinary ability to recall game film on his opponents even in the most pressurised situations.

His game knowledge, and capability of being able to read a play BEFORE it happens, is Luke Kuechly-esque and, with the intensity and tackling skills to match, he’s an all-round force on the defensive side of the ball.

Look for Fox and fellow linebacker George Dimopoulos to command a forceful defence coming off an impressive 7 turnovers in last week’s win over the Mustangs.

#9 Shaun Foster

Something of a utility knife for the Warhawks, Foster was voted MVP in the opening weekend 24-17 victory over the Mustangs.

Foster has been with the Warhawks for three years now and has had his faith repaid with a captaincy appointment in the 2021 season.

Boasting RB, HB, WB and QB as his positional groups it’s clear the Rams will need to keep an eye out for this talented back.

Meetings between the teams:

The Rams and Warhawks have not yet played a competitive fixture.

A pre-season game between the sides took place on 3rd April 2017 with the Rams running out 54-0 victors on that occasion.

Summary

If you thought the Rams were excited about returning to competitive football, that’s nothing compared to playing football at their home of John Charles Stadium. A week removed from their shutout victory of the Doncaster Mustangs, and that is exactly what awaits the Rams as they host the Humber Warhawks.

Both sides come into the game boasting unbeaten records with the Rams sitting at 1-0, and their opponents a tidy 2-0 after hard-fought victories against Doncaster Mustangs and Leeds Bobcats.

The recent victory against the Bobcats was perhaps the most impressive performance, going in at the half 0-8 and finishing 16-8 victors. High on confidence, the Warhawks will be keen to take another scalp, this time one from a division above.

The Rams managed to overcome the abandonment of the week before against Sheffield Giants to run out 57-0 winners against the Mustangs in last week’s game. In what was a truly dominant display on both sides of the ball, the Rams won convincingly and will be keen to continue their upward trend against their rivals from East Yorkshire in front of a buzzing home crowd.
