2018 Opponents Revealed
Mon Jan 29 2018
The 2018 season moved a step closer this morning with the announcement of the BAFA Division One structure.
The Rams will once again be playing in the Northern Conference (NFC1) and will continue to play games in the Northern Division.
The NFC1 North will also see a mix up of teams from last season, as Division One champions, the Manchester Titans will move up to the NFC Premier and are replaced by the Lancashire Wolverines, to set up a War of the Roses that has been missing from the fixture list for a few seasons. The West Coast Trojans, who finished bottom of the NFC1 North, will move down into Division 2.
A re-organisation of the division means that there will now be 6 teams making up the table, meaning an end to the controversial method of playing two teams 3 times. The expanded division has seen more teams promoted from Division Two than was expected as the Rams will be joined by the Division Two runners-up, Glasgow Tigers; an old foe in the Gateshead Senators; and an interesting match-up with local rivals, the Leeds Bobcats.
Each team will play each other twice to make up another 10 game season, before the teams move into the same playoff structure as last year, the Rams will be hoping to advance further than the quarter finals of the last two seasons.
