Heads Up Football!

Players and coaches from the Rams attended a Skills Camp and Heads Up certification course at Leeds Beckett on Tuesday.

The Skills Camp, hosted by Leeds Academy Of American Football, was led by 4 American Coaches who were in the UK for both last weekends BAFCA Coaching Convention in Nottingham and to deliver the first rollout of Heads Up Football by USA Football. Wide Receivers Tom White and Jonathan Walton took part in drills led by former NFL Safety Coach George Teague whilst Lysander Code experienced drills with both Coach Chad Hester and Linebacker drills with Coach Anthony Stone. The camp was attended by over 80 participants aged from 9 through to mid-20’s.

In the evening, coaches took part in the first ever ‘Heads Up Football’ certification in the UK as part of BAFAs initiative to drive all coaches to deliver safer football coaching practices. The scheme, which is delivered by USA Football, will be offered at 3 dates initially before it is rolled out on a wider basis in the coming months. 9 Rams coaches and players passed their certification as part of the ground-breaking clinic.
