Rams Return to Training
Mon Jan 18 2016
The Yorkshire Rams braved Arctic conditions as they returned to training for the start of preseason proper on Sunday.
Having held a couple of open sessions before Christmas to bring in new players, Coach David Pawson and his men arrived at Leeds Corinthians to find around three inches of snow covering their practice field.
Undeterred - and in fairness, the conditions were a great improvement on November 29’s ludicrous rain-swept outing - the team began their offensive install for the new season as well as putting in some fitness work in a productive and enjoyable two hour session.
Coach Pawson hailed a “great session” whilst General Manager Adam Cowley said: “Pride in the Rams hasn’t been so high in a while - 53 players pushing each other to be better in the snow was a pleasure to watch.”
“We still have a few more guys to return, which means starting positions in all areas are going to be competitive but also means we will be competing at a high level.”
With preparations under way in earnest for the new season, the Rams will be back at work every Wednesday and Sunday and begin their programme of preseason friendlies within the next month.
